Consulting services for charities
To help charities to become more effective and to assess and communicate their impact, we provide three types of charity consulting service, which can be commissioned by charities or funders:
- Charity health checks: We analyse the effectiveness of organisations to
provide chief executives, trustees or funders with an overview of their charity
and its strengths and weaknesses. Health checks can be used to improve
services, inform future development or raise funds.
- Results measurement: We help charities design measurement frameworks, and gather and use evidence to
improve services and better communicate the impact of their work. Our experience ranges from cost-benefit to SROI analysis.
- Bespoke research on social issues: We provide research and advice on key
strategic questions, such as: What are the main needs of the sector? What
are other charities doing? Where can a charity add the most value.
There are other ways in which we can apply NPC’s knowledge and skills to support charities. For instance, we can also facilitate strategic discussions among board members and management. Please get in touch if you would like to discuss an idea.

Charity insight
"75% of abused children tell no-one at the time. If they do, they have to tell three people on average before anything is done."
NSPCC's ChildLine is a helpline where children can discuss whatever is worrying them in confidence. It receives 4,500 calls per day; only 60% can be answered. there4me is NPSPCC's complementary online service. Both help children to report abuse.
